Arsenic Treatment; Morelos Gold Mine; Prefeasibility Phase

The technology used for arsenic removal at the Morelos Gold Mine (Minera Media Luna, Mexico) Pond 5 Conceptual Water Treatment Facility is co-precipitation with ferric sulphate.


The treatment process components included:

  • a ferric sulphate storage tank;

  • a ferric sulphate unloading station;

  • a dosing pump station for ferric sulphate including pumps, valves and flow meters;

  • a weir for measuring raw water flow rate

  • a cascade system for providing in-line mixing; and,

  • a pH probe for monitoring compliance prior to entering Pond 5.
