The basic and detailed design for this project was carried out for not one, but two mine water treatment plants for the iron mine in northern Quebec.

At the heart of the process were four and two Densadeg (proprietary lamella clarifier) units in two separate red water treatment plants, at 2.75 m³/s and 1.8 m³/s, respectively. The process includes chemical dosing systems, sludge management, TSS and metals removal in the clarifier, floating water intake barge and a sludge drying pond.

Process design and coordination of multi-disciplinary team (partially subcontracted) were part of tasks required by this major project. The following activities were also completed along the way, among others:

  • Design review sessions

  • Risk evaluation

  • Constructability sessions

  • HAZOP

  • Construction planning using P6 and MS Project.

Notable Achievement: While at her previous firm, Tyler was awarded the annual Outstanding Project Delivery Award following this client's nomination.

Location: Mont Wright, Fermont, Quebec
